Week 3 December 1, 2011

Hi everyone!
So it's already the start of my third week here at the MTC.  I can't believe how fast everything is going by.  I feel like I just barely got here, but at the same time, I feel like I've been here for forever.  It's really weird and hard to explain.  I just feel like I've known everyone in my district here for so much longer than two weeks.  And it will definitely be difficult to say goodbye to everyone.
Thanksgiving was a really interesting day.  We had to start very early because it was supposed to be our preparation day, but the entire schedule was changed because of the holiday.  So instead of having a really relaxing day, we got to wake up at 5:00 to do laundry before the day started.  Other than that, the day was awesome.  We got to do a service project where we made first aid kits for people in Sudan.  I think that we made over 4000 kits in about 3 hours.  It was really fun because everything was done assembly line style, including having a human conveyer belt running through the cafeteria.  On Thanksgiving, we also got to hear from Elder Nelson.  He was the second apostle to come visit us within a 3-day period.  It was really inspiring to hear from him.  He talked about his responsibilites to open Russia to missionary work as a newly-called apostle back in 1989.
Today we were able to go to the temple which was a really awesome experience.   It was really amazing to be able to go as a missionary.  The Spirit was so strong, and it brought me so much strength to help support me through everything.
One of the most exciting things that I've been able to do is to teach people in the TRC (Training Resource Center).  We are currently teaching a woman named Hely.  I can't tell if she is really an investigator, or if she is just an actor.  Either way, it is always really inspiring to be able to talk to her and to share with her the message of the Gospel.  The Spirit is always so strong during our teaching appointments, and it really makes me very exciting to be able to down to Chile to be able to help the people there feel the joy that comes through the Gospel and the power of the Spirit in our lives.
I'm really excited to be able to leave on the 13th.  It means that I have less than 2 weeks left here!  That is still super hard for me to believe!  But apparently, I get to have a really long plane ride down there... something like 14 hours or so.  I should find out my travel plans sometime next week so then I'll be able to know for sure what is happening.  I don't know if I already said this, but there is another Elder in my district who is going down to Rancagua, Chile with me, so it will be really fun to be able to go down with him.
Sorry this letter has been a little scatter-brained, but it's hard to remember exactly what's happened.  All I can really say is this place is awesome and inspiring.  I can't wait to be able to go out into the field to be able to teach and help people, but until then, this is a great place to be!

PS. Could you just send me as many addresses of people that I might wanna talk to as possible in a DearElder thing?  That way I'll be able to have the addresses if I need them.  Also, I'll probably be asking someone from the singles ward to do the same, so you probably don't need to worry so much about them.  Otherwise, I don't know if I need much.  I think I left a nice metal pen back there that would be nice to have.  Otherwise, just pictures.  If I think of anything else, I might try to send a quick email sometime later.
See ya later!
