June 25, 2012

Hello everyone,

And the time keeps hurrying on.
¿Cómo les va allá en los Estados?  Things are going well here.  The weather this week has actually been pretty nice.  It has been nice and sunny the last few days.  During the middle of the day it is actually really comfortable.  The only problem is that there are pretty much no clouds whatsoever so it gets somewhat cold at night and in the morning, but I've been holding up just fine.

Oh I found out some pretty exciting news.  In October, there is going to be an activity for the Young Single Adults in Rancagua in a center that they have down there.  For the activity, they are going to be doing some type of concert thing it seems.  Anyway, according to my trainer who is currently in the office, I am going to be performing in some way in that activity with some other Elders so that should be pretty exciting.  I don't really know any details at all right now, but hopefully I'll figure out sometime in the not too distant future and be able to let you know.

Anyway, the most exciting thing for this week.....  We have an investigator that we are teaching named Andrea.  She is really great.  She has kidney cancer and definitely suffers from the effects of that.  She has to go get treatment, including dialysis 2 or 3 times a week.  Anyway, she has been taught by missionaries for quite some time now, approximately 8 months or so I believe.  The problems that she has had is that she smoked a lot and had never gone to church.  Fortunately, about 4 weeks ago she stopped smoking and hasn't relapsed at all since.  But the best thing, yesterday she went to church for the first time ever!!  It was really exciting.  We went to look for her with a member in his car, but when we got there, her dad said that she had already left.  After searching all the streets in between her house and the church building, we returned to the building to find that she had already arrived.  That was really exciting, because she has tried for a long time to be able to get there and has never been able to arrive.  Finally she was able to be there and is now preparing to be baptized in 2 weeks.  We will see if she can keep going so that all goes well.

Well, so far we haven't had all that many exciting activities for P-days.  Mostly we just play soccer.  I enjoy it, but we do do it a lot and I'm pretty much just so so.  But its fun anyway.

I hope that all is going well for you all.  Good luck with everything, and I'll talk with you later.
